11. Auxiliary Editing Functions

11-1 Width and Height

When an image, text, or shape is selected, its width and height are displayed in the units set for the ruler. You may manually change the size of an image or shape by entering new values. You may also specify a value for multiple images and shapes simultaneously. When the values are changed, the image and/or shape is automatically updated in the designing area.

The aspect ratio is maintained when an image size is manually updated. To alter the aspect ratio of an image, use the Crop tool.

11-2 Keyline

This command is used to draw a border around the edges of an image or images. Click on the 'Keyline' button to apply or remove keylines. You can select multiple images to which to apply the same keylines.

6-2-1 Keyline Options

Select an image or multiple images from the design area and click on the down arrow next to the 'Keyline' button to select keyline options. You can set the value of the weight and color of the keyline. The weight changes are applied when 'OK' is clicked or you click back in the design area. The changes for the color are set by clicking 'OK'.

The initial settings for keylines are shown below.

  • Weight: 6 px
  • Color: Black (R:0 G:0 B:0)

11-3 Drop Shadow

This command is used to add a drop shadow to an image or images. Click on the 'Drop Shadow' button to apply or remove drop shadows.

11-3-1 Drop Shadow Options

Select an image or multiple images from the design area and click on the down arrow next to the 'Drop Shadow' button to select drop shadow options. You can set the size, distance, opacity, and angle of the drop shadow by dragging or dropping the slider or manually entering values. The changes are set by clicking 'OK'.

Options

  • Size: Specifies the diffusion size of a drop shadow from 0 to 250.
  • Distance: Specifies the distance from the target image from 0 to 300.
  • Opacity: Specifies the transparency of a drop shadow from 0 to 100.
  • Angle: Specifies the direction of the drop shadow from -180 to 180.

11-4 Brightness

This command is used to adjust the brightness of an image or images. Click on the 'Brightness' button to apply or remove brightness settings.

11-5-1 Brightness Option

Select an image or multiple images from the design area and click on the down arrow next to the 'Brightness' button to select brightness level. You can set the brightness level by dragging or dropping the slider or manually entering values from -100 to 100. The changes are set by clicking 'OK'.

The initial setting for brightness is shown below.

  • Brightness: 0

11-5 Color Toned Monochrome

This command is used to adjust the color tone of an image or images. Click on the 'Color Toned Monochrome' button to apply or remove color tone.

Select an image or multiple images from the design area and click on the down arrow next to the 'Color Toned Monochrome' button to select a color tone. You can select from 11 types of filtering effects and click 'OK' to apply.

The color tones options are shown below.

  • Mono 1
  • Mono 2
  • BlueTone 1
  • BlueTone 2
  • Chocolate
  • RedTone 1
  • RedTone 2
  • Warm Tone 1
  • Warm Tone 2
  • Mono HC 1
  • Mono HC 2

11-6 Fade Image Into...

This command is used to add clor to an image by overlaying color filters onto the image or images and adjust the level of the effect. Click on the 'Fade Image Into...' button to apply or remove color overlays.

11-6-1 Fade Image Into... Options

Select an image or multiple images from the design area and click on the down arrow next to the 'Fade Image Into...' button to select color overlay. You can set the overlay level by dragging or dropping the slider or manually entering values from 0 to 100%. You may also select the desired color of the overlay. The changes are set by clicking 'OK'.
