8. Effects

8-1 Drop Shadow

This command is used to add a drop shadow to an image. To apply a drop shadow to an image, click on an image and then click the 'Effects' button found on the right in the Basic Image Menu. In the Effects window, click 'Drop Shadow,' select desired options and click 'OK' to apply the effect. When selecting options, you can preview the effects on the image on the spread.

Options

  • Size: Specifies the diffusion size of a drop shadow from 0 to 150.
  • Distance: Specifies the distance from the target image from 0 to 1000.
  • Opacity: Specifies the transparency of a drop shadow from 0 to 100.
  • Spread: Specifies the spread of a drop shadow from 0 to 250.
  • Angle: Specifies the direction of the drop shadow from -180 to 180

Click 'Reset' at any time to revert to the default settings.

Click 'Save' and insert a name to save the current settings as custom drop shadow settings. Two preset drop shadow options, Shadow1 and Shadow2, have been included with the software.

8-2 Keyline

This command is used to add a keyline to an image. To apply a keyline to an image, click on an image and then click the 'Effects' button found on the right in the Basic Image Menu. In the Effects window, click 'Keyline,' select desired options and click 'OK' to apply the effect. When selecting options, you can preview the effects on the image on the spread.

Options

  • Color: Specifies the color from AsukaBook Safe Colors or Full Color options.
  • Weight: Specifies the thickness from 0 to 100.

Click 'Reset' at any time to revert to the default settings.

Click 'Save' and insert a name to save the current settings as custom keyline settings. Two preset keyline options have been included with the software.

8-3 Image Adjustment

This command is used to add an image adjustment to an image. To apply an image adjustment to an image, click on an image and then click the 'Effects' button found on the right in the Basic Image Menu. In the Effects window, click 'Image Adjustment,' select desired options and click 'OK' to apply the effect. When selecting options, you can preview the effects on the image on the spread.

Options

  • Exposure: Specifies the amount of light from -100 to 100.
  • Contrast: Specifies the amount of difference between tones from -100 to 100.
  • Hue: Specifies shade from -180 to 180.
  • Gamma: Specifies the adjustment of the relative proportions of bright and dark areas from 0.10 to 10.00.
  • Sharpen: Specifies the sharpness from -100 to 100.
  • Saturaton: Specifies the intensity of a color from -100 to 100.
  • Colorize: Specifies the amount of color added for red, green and blue from -100 to 100.
  • Chanel Mixer: Specifies the how much of each of the three color channels from -100 to 100.

Click 'Reset' at any time to revert to the default settings.

Click 'Save' and insert a name to save the current settings as custom drop shadow settings. Nine preset image adjustment options have been included with the software.

8-4 Fade Image Into

This command is used to add color to an image by overlaying color filters onto the image and adjust the level of the effect. To apply this effect to an image, click on an image and then click the 'Effects' button found on the right in the Basic Image Menu. In the Effects window, click 'Fade Image Into,' select desired options and click 'OK' to apply the effect. When selecting options, you can preview the effects on the image on the spread.

Options

  • Color: Specifies the color from AsukaBook Safe Colors or Full Color options.
  • Amount: Specifies the intensity of the effect from 0 to 100%.
  • Gradient: Specifies to turn gradient feature on or off.
  • Gradient Amount: Specifies the intensity of the gradient from 0 to 100%.
  • Gradient Angle: Specifies the direction of the gradient from -180% to 180%.

Click 'Reset' at any time to revert to the default settings.

Click 'Save' and insert a name to save the current settings as custom drop shadow settings. Six preset fade image into effects have been included with the software.

8-5 Transparency

This command is used to adjust the transparency of an image. To apply this effect to an image, click on an image and then click the 'Effects' button found on the right in the Basic Image Menu. In the Effects window, click 'Transparency,' select desired options and click 'OK' to apply the effect. When selecting options, you can preview the effects on the image on the spread.

Options

  • Transparency: Specifies the transparency from from 0 to 100%.
  • Gradient: Specifies to turn gradient feature on or off.
  • Gradient Amount: Specifies the intensity of the gradient from 0 to 100%.
  • Gradient Angle: Specifies the direction of the gradient from -180% to 180%.

Click 'Reset' at any time to revert to the default settings.

Click 'Save' and insert a name to save the current settings as custom drop shadow settings. Four preset fade image into effects have been included with the software.
