Creating Book Design Templates

You can save book designs that you have created as book design templates that you may reuse to create new photo book layouts.

Creating Templates

Basic Creation Method

Open data to be used as a base
Open previously designed book.

Open the designed book you would like to use for the template. Save the new book with a different name so that the original book file is not replaced.

Make sure that the cover and all page spreads are saved as layout templates.

To reuse a layout, all pages in the design must be saved as layout templates. Be sure to check that the layouts on all pages are custom or preset layout templates.

Make custom layout templates for the cover and all page spreads.
  1. Right-click on all spreads in the Pages tab and save each layout as a custom layout template.
  2. Go to the custom layout templates and drag each corresponding layout onto each spread in the design.
  3. Make sure the layout has been applied to the spread by moving an image out of the layout area, and back in to it.

The effects applied to images will not be lost.

Save as a template
Save as a template.

After layout templates have been applied to the cover and all page spreads, the template is complete. Save this file and reuse it as design template for future book layouts.
